NOT TALKIN BUT WALKIN’

It’s been five years in the making, after being inspired by the then Culture Minister when he told us of the government’s plans for the £120m #Unboxed2022 National STEAM Powered Festival of Creativity.

Here’s a talk Nick gave of that journey and why we’re now building cardboard oil rigs across the country.

See how we’re not talkin’ ‘bout a revolution, but walkin’ one, starting in Shropshire, Cornwall and Yorkshire.

TO DO WHAT? HOW?

We want to scale what we’ve been doing now for ten years, by getting up to 20 of our pop-up creativity day Art Trucks and STEAMsters on the road, fully funded to go into schools and communities, at fetes and festivals for free.

But first three trucks in:

  • Shropshire/North West - birthplace of the Industrial Revolution

  • Cornwall/South West - whose son Richard Trevithick invented ‘Locomotion’

  • Yorkshire/North East - whose coal fuelled that revolution

Check out the film we made last year with McLaren to kick all this off.

This is and will probably remain a work in progress, where would you stop?
