Will you help us start Creativity Revolution

Our Million 22 Launch Day

Tues 22nd March
St Issey School
Cornwall

We had a fantastic day with one of our ‘Mission to Mars’ sessions at St Issey School, just down the road from Padstow in Cornwall.

Launching a campaign to Start a Creativity Revolution with #Cornwall22 as part of our #Ignite22 Festival Year

We delivered the day free of any cost to the school in the hope that parents, carers and the local community and creative carers across the country will contribute a pound to our national appeal which we launched on the day to inspire a million kids to aim higher than high in life.

What was it all about?

It was all about helping our children find their passion, their art - something that could help them make a little or a lot of money one day, make a few friends or the world a better place. Or all three!

Here’s a short film of the day and the background to the campaign launch.

Caring is sharing

Will you help get word out?

Please share a short verson of the launch film via these links if you can:

BLAST OFF

We kicked off with a live streamed assembly in the assembly hall, to class bubbles and family homes as if on a Mars base camp we appeared to have built from cardboard, code and creativity in the playground.

Children then undertook a range of creative activities - rocket making/firing, coding, cardbaord modelling and design before a real dynamite rocket launch to send everyone home buzzing and inspired to learn.

We’ll have a film of the launch soon… watch this space.

The Our Million 22 appeal

Back in January we launched this appeal in John O’Groats on a UK tour there and back.

We want to ‘Raise a Million Quids to Inspire a Million Kids to Aim Higher than High’

We want to put up to 22 of our Pop-Up Creativity Day Drop Trucks on the road, with the first in Shropshire, the home country of STEAM Co. Co-founder Nick Corston who is from the nearby town of Ludlow, where his father was a town, district and county councillor and who started and ran a summer arts and crafts summer play scheme for twent years ago in the 1980’swith his mother who sadly passed away the day after Nick visited St Lawrence Primary.

STEAM Co. also want to run a weekend community arts festival in the autumn in Shropshire at an amazing site we’ve been offered use of

Inspired by how Elon Musk wants to take a million kids to Mars in 30 years, we want to bring Mars to Shropshire this year in the form of a millionth scale model artwork of the red planet by artist Luke Jerram’s imaginative ability to combine art, science and play, showing us that (in his own words) “anything is possible”.

WILL YOU CHIP IN?

We hope you will support this appeal in one of the following ways:

  • Chip in a quid or more here

  • Pledge a pound (and get a free cardboard modelling kit) here

  • Sponsor one of our trucks through your company here

  • Gift creativity with one of our cardboard modelling kits - here
